Trumpington offers the best of both worlds: a charming village atmosphere with vibrant city life close at hand. Despite being just a short journey from the bustling centre of Cambridge, it still has the feel and features of a traditional East Anglian rural community, from its 13th century church to its Victorian village hall.

Trumpington has a real sense of community. There's a crescent of local shops in the centre of the village, as well as a branch surgery for Cambridge's Trumpington Street Medical Practice. In time-honoured fashion, locals still gather at the ancient, half-timbered Green Man pub to socialise over a glass of ale or wine.

Entirely renovated in 2009, Trumpington Pavilion is a state-of-the-art youth and community facility with a kitchen and changing rooms.

Nearby Great Shelford has a wider choice of amenities, including supermarkets, a branch of Boots the Chemists, two hairdressing salons and a variety of independent shops, including a delicatessen and a butcher.

There's a good range of sports and leisure facilities in the area, including the Hills Road Sports and Tennis Centre and the Cambridge Lakes Golf Course, not to mention the River Cam, perennially popular with punters, rowers and canoeists.

Trumpington is also conveniently located for travel to central Cambridge or further afield. The park and ride facility provides regular bus services into the city, while the nearby M11 offers easy road access to Stansted Airport, London and the M25. Trains run regularly from Shelford station to London Liverpool Street, with a journey time of around 1 hour 20 minutes.

Trumpington Meadows is 3.5 km from Cambridge City centre and is situated to the west of Hauxton Road.
